About Dawn Anderson

Dawn began sewing when she was 5 years old and it has since become a lifelong pursuit. She has worked as a custom tailor and dressmaker as well as designed and created costumes for theatre and dance. Dawn earned a B.A. at Shenandoah University and M.F.A. in Theatre Costume Design from Indiana University. While attending college, she taught sewing for 7 years. She worked as a costume designer, and cutter/ draper, making custom clothing for performers, specialty garments, historic reproductions, corsetry, and millinery. Dawn then began to work for Custom Clothiers as a freelance designer and cutter in Scotland and England and as a custom tailor in Washington DC where she also began her small ready to wear line and sewing pattern company. She currently sells sewing patterns for clothing and hats on her website, as well as hand made Men’s Jackets. She is currently expanding her women's ready to wear lines.
